I have a 16 month old Flat coated retriever.  One morning a couple of weeks ago, my husband who couldn't sleep took her for a walk at 4 in the morning.  Every morning since she begins whining at 4 or 4:30 wanting to be let out.  We always take her out right before we go to bed and she has always been fine throughout the night in the past.  Is there a way to break her of this without risking accidents.

Is cancer common among flat coated retrievers? And do flat coated retrievers adapt to living outside?
