The color doesn't really matter. Just because a poorly bred yellow lab has more health problems than a well bred black lab does it doesn't mean one color is more prone to disease than the other. It just depends on breeding, care, climate, etc.

I think dogs just have allergies because they have allergies. It is not about the color or breed.

thats exactly right. hair color determines nothing. if your dog doeas have allergies, be sure to keep their environment clean with fresh water, clean bed, and well ventilated air.

I don't think it matters on there color. It depends on how well you take care of your dog.

Some breeders say lighter coated dogs are more sensitive to outside stimuli, whether that means they are more prone to allergies I cannot say.  It's generally directed to things like sunburning... mostly because lighter hair doesn't protect the skin as well as darker hair.  On something like a Lab... their nose is really all that is vulnerable.

COLOR DOES MATTER!!!! Light color dogs such as yellow labs or golden retrievers are more prone to have allergies and skin problems.
