I was going to start building my own computer and I was wondering, what type of mother board is the best to buy, but cheap to?

I would suggest AMD these are very good gaming, and desktop computers while not breaking the back. I suggest for a mother board maker Asus.

I would agree that an AMD processor is probably a good bet. As for motherboards, there are several out there that will fit your bill. Have a look at the reviews in some computer magazines or check our reviews on some of the web sites like http://www.motherboards.org. Most importantly understand what you require in a motherboard have a look at pages like http://www.build-a-computer-guide.com/Choosingamotherboard.htm or
http://members.cox.net/kenthomp/KenFrame.htm from these you will understand what are the minimum features you require and then you can buy something at a minimum cost for that feature set.
