Approximate measurements:

1 gram = .03 ounce

28.3 grams = 1 ounce

450 grams = 16 ounces = 1 pound

For weight:

1/2 oz. = 15g
1 oz = 30 g
3.5 oz = 100 g
4 oz (1/4 lb) = 125g
7 oz = 200g
8 oz = 250g
16 oz = 500g
32 oz = 1,000g = 1kg

28 grams give or take. In a phat ounce you should get about 30 1.2 bags of.....Potatoes.

It depends;

There are 28.350 grams in 1 Avoirdupois ounce, used commonly in the U.S.

However, there are 31.103 grams in 1 Troy ounce.  This is also used in the U.S. for precious stones and metals, and perhaps druggists.
