I live in a very cold climate, and was wondering if Labs can be outside year round or if they should be inside dogs. My dog has a insulated dog house with straw and another dog(Husky/x) that he curls up with. Would that be O.K.?

I think it would be if the shed is insulated and it has a dog like a husky that does well in winter to snuggle with. Just try it and if your dog appears uncomfortable then take him inside.

An insulated dog house gets to warm for dog, and sometimes it's just to cold for a dog to be outside. The problem you face now is that your dog as no comfort zone. You can,t compare a husky to a lab there'sa big difference. You can keep your dog outside almost year round, but on those really cold nights bring him inside. You should never take a chance cause your dog might suffer a lot.

Why bother to get a dog at all, if you are going to make it stay outside by itself?

Why would you ever have a lab for a outside pet? Labs are the best dogs and perfect family pet for inside of your home. I guess I don't understand why people have a pet but put him/her outside.
