I have an Abit KT-7 motherboard, with AMD 1 Gig CPU that goes to a blank screen on boot-up.  It was working fine previously. I haven't been monkeying around with over-clocking or changing BIOS settings. It does not seem to be related to the video card either, since I changed to another one with no improvement.  I also removed the sound card and that didn't fix it.

Possibly of importance - Restart button did not work and computer would come on when power on switch on back of chasis was switched on.  CMOS settings were largely defaults as in manual.  I've tried discharging CMOS with no effect.

1. Remove all PCI CARDS AND TRY USING JUST THE GRAPHICS CARD.

It could be a motherboard problem or ram or CPU is shot. Try removing ram and try another ram. check how hot the CPU is. It is is hot then it is shot. Check PSU voltages with a multimeter. If none of this works then the motherboard is shot.

Many  Thanks

Ben
