Can dogs get pregnant before they start their very first cycle??...My young dog(9 months) ran off because she was scared of the fireworks..When she came home it was pretty obvious that she got mated...Please can someone answer this question....

No they cannot , if your dog ran off was she in season? if so then it is possible, females can be mated in their season from the 8/9 day till 15/16 days and even before or after this days, the average time is 11-14 day of her season, you can check the blood titer for hormone levels if you want to be sure, many info you can find at http://www.el-minjas.com/Genetica.htm Frank

no she can not get pregnant if she was not in season. She would have to be artificially inseminated. her vulva was too small and it has to dilate so that a male's organ can fit inside of her. She will not give a male the time of day in regards to mating if she is not in season. it would hurt her way too much to allow this to happen. The question for you is, "are you sure she was not in season?" (swollen, dilated, enlarged vulva/vagina).

We use to have dogs for almost the entire life. I seen a lot of times that the females dogs , mate with several dogs during a day or so. Gets pregnants with all of them or just with one??? Marlon

Jenn, your puppy can get pregnet when she is in heat. here are some signs that your puppy is in heat.... ...she is bleeding out of her private spot... ...her private spot is swollen... ...you can bring her to the vet... i hope that i helped!

Yes. I'm concerned too that my six month old puppy who was mated unintentionally may now be pregnant. I am more concerned however about how this might affect her spirit as now she seems sad and distraught.

my dog just had puppies and she keeps them in the garage but shes i a little baby plastic pool but she keeps moving them behind the pingpong table but its not up so it s just like a table thats not put up how do i get her to stop without moving them to a different place

I have a puppy that is not quite 6 months old yet. She has not had her first cycle yet but my brother in law's dog has been a lot more interested in mating lately. She fights him off if he gets close, but she has recently been acting very tired, not eating much, and she woke up a few days ago and got sick (but only the one time). I am just worried. Could she be pregnant?

hi a have question regarding when dogs are in heat. ok my dog had her period and it went away 2 days ago. (yeaterday and today)and today she was outside and a dog came and they were mating. and im not sure if shes pregnant or not because her period was gone yesterday. the vet says its a 50-50% she is. but i need a 100% answer.

A female dog can get pregnant from six months if near a man dog.The average female dog'firstheat is between 8 to 9 months.The dog vagina would start bleeding before the heat.If your had mate you would not know unless she was coming out of heat and her vagina would be bleeding unusaully.
