Treatment of Uterine Disorders

Several problems can arise from uterine dysfunction or disease. Tumors, polyps, and endometrial growth can prevent implantation of fertilized eggs in the uterine lining. There are several surgical procedures, mostly done in the doctor's office, that can correct the problems. Dilation and curettage ( D and C ), endometrial biopsy , and endometrial curettage are procedures that allow the physician to remove unusual growths from the cervix and uterine walls.
