OPFV: What's planned for future versions?
Trn 4.0 will allow multiple, simultaneous news sources to be open at the same time (both local and remote) with full control over what servers/local-directories are to be used available to each user (each source needs its own .newsrc file). You may either switch from server to server, or have multiple newsrcs open at the same time (if a group is available from multiple sources, it is read from the first newsrc that has it available). It even allows you to use a remote news source and a local (or nfs-mounted) active file, all configurable at run-time. Trn 4.0 also has a newsgroup selector and an add-group selector working, but still needs some finishing touches. Cliff Adams's strn (see Subject: OSTR in part 2 of this FAQ) is also integrated into trn 4.0. Trn 4.0 will also run under MSDOS, and OS/2.
