When you respond to a message do not change the headers unless you know what you're doing. Threaded newsreaders, like trn, tin, and netscape, use the References header to track threads. Unthreaded newsreaders, like rn, nn, and pine use the Subject header to simulate thread tracking. If you change either of these headers you will mess up the tracking abilities of some newsreaders.
