09.02 Why do I get *NO*UPDATE* and what can I do about it?
Date: Sun, 2 Jun 1991 21:56:45 -0700 When entering a group with a search command nn does not do updates as it assumes you are only "visiting" this group to look up some text. In this case, nn enters a new "level" of information retrieval, indicated by "<level 2>". It also tells you that there won't be any updates by the "*NO*UPDATE*" on the top of the menu. If you want to go to a group and *read* it (that is, you want nn to remember which articles you have read, selected, or left for reading) then you must *jump* to it. Use the 'G' command followed by the 'j' (jump) subcommand.
