Usenet Posting Guidlines
========================

Welcome to the dur.* newsgroup hierarchy!

When you post to newsgroups, your message can potentially go to several
thousand servers and millions of readers. Many of these readers are busy
people without much time to devote to reading individual Usenet
newsgroups, and so a set of conventions has evolved to make Usenet
discussions as easy to follow as possible.

The IT Service maintain a set of guidelines for posting to newsgroups,
which can be found at:
<URL:http://www.dur.ac.uk/its/services/usenet/guidelines/>

By keeping to these conventions, you ensure that the greatest number of
people read, and possibly reply, to your message.
