[Malibu Comics] Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Limited Edition Preview
01 Jun 93 Interviews with Mike W. Barr and Gordon Purcell; sample script, pencil breakdowns, and art for Preview #2. Bagged with Hero Illustrated #1 as Hero Premiere Edition #1. Cover has DS9 logo in gold foil on a blue background, with a photo of the space station. There is no story in this comic. 01 Jun 93 Same as above except DS9 logo appears in silver prism foil (which has a rainbow effect). Sealed in plastic and numbered. One copy given to comic book dealers for every 25 copies of Hero Illustrated #1 ordered. 02 Jul 93 Hostage Situation A Klingon bird-of-prey docks at DS9 so that a prisoner being transported to Qo'Nos can receive medical attention. After an escape attempt thwarted by Odo, shapeshifting into a Vulcan Sehlat, Bashir examines the prisoner, but is overpowered and held hostage in sickbay. Sisko resolves the situation when he discovers that the Klingon captain set up the hostage situation so that the prisoner would be killed. Bagged with Hero Illustrated #2 as Hero Premiere Edition #1A. Possibly another 10,000 copies sold by Platinum Editions. (Mike W. Barr; Lurene Haines)
