In general, Moviemaker edits movies directly on disk, although in 6.2, some types of edits are made in memory (to be written to disk later). It is entirely possible to write an application which plays movies entirely from memory (see below for details), but Movieplayer does not support that. We can read a movie up to 2 gigabytes long off the hard drive. Please note, however, that some file formats may impose smaller maximum file sizes.
