2.1.4.6 Fixing the Master Boot Record
From: Philip Wilk Date: 30 June 1996 So you diddled with your master boot record huh? A good way to futz things up is to use LILO followed by another program that tries to "fix" things. The problem is that your second program will get awefully confused by LILO and to punish you for straying from the Microsoft Path by making your computer unbootable. To fix things, type "fdisk /MBR" from DOS, where MBR stands for master boot record. This will fix everything, or at least it did for me. Thank you Ryan Davis for letting me know about this. -Philip
