A good way to futz things up is to use LILO followed by another program that tries to "fix" things. The problem is that your second program will get awefully confused by LILO and to punish you for straying from the Microsoft Path by making your computer unbootable. To fix things, type "fdisk /MBR" from DOS, where MBR stands for master boot record. This will fix everything, or at least it did for me. Thank you Ryan Davis for letting me know about this. -Philip User Contributions:Top Document: Compaq Contura Aero Frequently Asked Questions Previous Document: 2.1.4.5 Installing the old drive in your desktop Next Document: 2.1.4.7 Christian's Aero harddrive upgrade list Single Page [ Usenet FAQs | Web FAQs | Documents | RFC Index ] Send corrections/additions to the FAQ Maintainer: Philip Wilk <PWilk-aerofaq@ZenSpider.com>
