You can use Cdrecord (aka CdrTools), a freeware application, available at:

Additonally, Cdrecord-ProDVD can be used to burn DVDs; see:

  o <ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD/>

There are numerous X GUI frontends for CDrecord.  One of the most popular
is X-CD-Roast, available at:
