See reader questions & answers on this topic! - Help others by sharing your knowledge I want to get mail from both my local spool directory and from a POP server. What do I do? Under Gnus 5.8.x, see the manual section Select Methods->Getting Mail->Mail Sources. For older Gnusae, just set nnmail-spool-file to a list of your mail sources. For example, (setq nnmail-spool-file '("/var/spool/mail/dworkin" "po:dworkin")) note: The POP part of this example will work with the external movemail program, but not with Gnus' built-in pop3 library.
