	- news account is uid=20, gid=20
	- bin owns the executables
	- using Doug Gwyn's dirent library (available on OSU)
	- using a mailer that understands @ addressing (like smail 2.5)
	- UNIX PC kernel does not support setuid(geteuid())
	- other site-specific stuff (machine name and organization)
