'a copy' may not be realistic, if it resides on a web-server somewhere and
can only be 'passed around' in ASCII.

exactly. putting the URL at the top of the file regardless of whether it
is in HTML or ASCII posted to usenet serves this function.

thanks. my wife and I tend to plan for this by making sure that we have a
500 pixel width graphic which provides the outside border for the browser,
as we'd understood that 500 pixels pretty much accomodates any printer and
allows someone to adjust their browser window to that width and us to make
what we're coding to the proper dimension to fit on most printers. does
this sound reasonable?
