No system requirements, all the work is done at MIT. You need facility with
Unix, familiarity with Athena and RCS helps. You need a high ping to MIT.

At the moment, we aren't recruiting moderators (although we have discussed
the possibility of doing so) because it would be rather pointless -- if we
currently don't have time to do the moderation tasks then we certainly
don't have time to train other people to do them! This situation may well
change in the near future.

We have an expression-of-interest document explaining what moderating
*.answers involves and what sort of knowledge you need. Ask
news-answers-request@mit.edu for it if you're interested.
