this works, and is fast

this only works on a proportion of systems, is often excessively slow,
and tends to thrash the server hard enough to attract attention.
I've looked at the operation of a couple of email-address-harvester
packages (in an attempt to discover whether I could hack my server to
detect their use), and found that they use XOVER rather than XHDR.

The evidence is quite clear that using a correctly munged address,
where the address has _not_ been previously posted either unmunged in
From headers or on the web, is extremely effective in reducing spam at
that address. Furthermore, using an unmunged reply-to attracts very
little spam indeed.
Remember that the overwhelming majority of spammers are _stupid_.
