Actually, the Italians ISPs to whom I've reported spam have taken it
pretty seriously. As much so as the non-spam-harbor ISPs in the US. I
think your "local e-mail guru" just doesn't know how to report spam.
Try reporting via SpamCop (http://spamcop.net) and see what happens. I
hadn't gotten around to reporting this one yet, but based on this
thread I just did it. We'll see.
