Looking at the control archive: Neither party is using it for the intended

Purpose:
alt.music.nin, rec.music.industrial, & alt.gothic have *way* too many
spooooooky postings. The creation of alt.spooky is to allow a forum for
spooky people to converse, and educate lurkers (appropriate term!) as to
the depth and measure of their spookiness. Carpe Noctem.

Further research on Google Groups shows that the original idea failed and
became a spam trap which was later "hi-jacked" for porpose in the rival FAQ.
Eventually, it died off as well and was hi-jacked again by SmrSnows.
Basically, neither have a solid claim to this goth group and whoever gives
up their claim will be the loser.
