There are more versions around:
* the original python (now with pythonwin) from python.org. good stuff.
* the activestate version, which is better than their perl version (blame perl
only),
with some useful extensions. good stuff, esp. with komodo their ide and
debugger.
* the cygwin version, which is quite new and not really recommendable. hmm.
I have all three of them. all have easy binary installers.
