Although a FAQ should, in principle, be protected by copyright as any
other work, I think that most maintainers have no objection if a FAQ is
copied or re-distributed, so long as it is done "fairly": the FAQ isn't
changed, the maintainer's authorship is mentioned, and so on.

If you ask a person not to copy or re-distribute a FAQ, I think he
should comply, whatever the legal situation might be.
