FAQ Copyrights Question

Can someone offer me a general outline on what constotutes a FAQ's copyright if any?

I know my FAQ is sent to my newsgroup, news.answers, and rec.answers, and is mirrored at www.faqs.org.

I've recently become aware of some web sites harvesting and carrying copies of my FAQ for themselves at their own web sites and am wondering about this.

In my case this is a legacy FAQ that has has a few maintainers before me and likely will be passed by me on to another down the road to handle when I am no longer able to.

Also, what about newsgroup FAQs that are not considered the "official" copies, that isto say, they are considfered the FAQ for a newsgroup but held privately and not archived anywhere or posted beyond the newsgroup in question.

Thanks

DMK
