Whatever; we have "recede", "intercede", ... . "Supersede" just looks
goofy-- like it should be pronounced with a short "e" ("e" as in "Ed").
"Supercedes" is even worse. It looks like a Greek name-- e.g. "the great
warrior Supercedes".
Dictionary writers can kick and scream all they like; eventually, sanity
will prevail and "supercede" will supercede "supersede".
