I think the one which is most often used is 'asctohtm' by 'JAF' (John A
Fotheringham, I think). By memory, it runs under MS windows only. Take a
look at http://www.jafsoft.com/asctohtm/
It is very useful, and JAF is very helpful if you should hav any
problems. Like another poster said, if you write to JAF explaining that
you are a FAQ mainainer, he will register you for free.

Actually, I maintain mine in MS Word (Boo, hiss, tomatoes :^)
I then have a set of Macros (scripts, if you want) which convert it into
the ascii version for posting, two HTML versions for the web (one with
and one without frames) and a PDF file in case people want to download
and print. (Using Adobe Acrobat distiller - pdf macro still under
construction)
For me, this works quite well, although the MS macros (Visual Basic)
have become very sloooow to deal with my +/- 40 A4 pages of FAQ....
The HTML result can be seen at http://altern.org/pahle/go-faq, the ascii
result on the FAQ server (games/go-faq).
If anyone is interested in something similar, drop me a line!
Morten.
