Posting from MS Windows

The classic problem with news-posting software is that it may not allow you to create some of the headers you need for FAQs. FAQ maintainers have mentioned
the following Windows software that lets you add what headers you like; the list is not exhaustive.

One FAQ maintainer said WinVN is probably the most "standard" windows-based newsreader in existance. It doesn't do too much, it has too many
windows, but it has the most important feature for FAQ maintainers: you can change the headers into exactly what you want, so that you can post to
*.answers.
NewsXpress 2.0 lets you add and change whatever headers you like. The FAQ maintainer who mentioned it says its interface user friendly and slicker than
WinVN's.
PC-Pine has customized-hdrs and default-composer-hdrs variables. Pine is great for people who are used to the power and speed of Unix software
and being able to do everything using the keyboard (Windows Pine understands the mouse but experienced users can do almost everything much faster
using the keyboard).
The Win32 (95/98/NT) version of GNU Emacs includes gnus, the GNU newsgroup reader. It allows creation of any headers you like. Emacs is a
fully-programmable text editing and programming environment.
The freeware Free Agent lets you create the headers required for news.answers FAQ approval. You have to set ShowAllFields=1 in the agent.ini
configuration file. It doesn't let you create Supersedes or X-Last-Updated headers, although you can hack the executable to do so. See the FAQ on
Free Agent and its shareware version Agent. Both programs are available for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95/98.
