Actually I have had the disclaimer in the text of my FAQ for
at least three years, as part of an answer.

I do the FAQ for the National Writers Union (UAW Local
1981), on Usenet as alt.union.natl-writers. The NWU opposes
censorship in any form (unless its own leaders are doing the
censoring). The NWU supports freedom of access to all
writing, including pornography, and a few of our members are
authors of erotica.

Therefore I thought it politic to explain what approval from
rtfm.mit.edu really meant, lest my colleagues accuse me of
bowing to an alien power.

The 'X-Disclaimer: ' header will appear in future postings,
on the last day of each month.
