If a new version doesn't reach your server, the old version will simply
expire if you are relying on Expires: alone.

With Supersedes: the old version is only removed when a new version
arrives, thus ensuring the availability of the FAQ. That's why I post my
FAQ with Supersedes: and an Expire: of double the posting interval (so
really old versions don't clutter the newsspool).
