You keep saying you won't point fingers... why? Why not illustatre
as best you can? You pop out to everyone's site and say "You
weren;t as commerical as I thought."

Do I or you really think Jeff Bezos' henchman are going to come
down and say "We've got some new IP books or books on porno
stars -- where are the links?" Of course not.

But you say "this has already happened on one FAQ."

Which one? I'd like to talk to the maintainer.

If people wish to abuse the system, they will and you can be angry
about that... but the way to do is to flush them out and make them
defend themselves. In that arena, silence may speak louder than
words. But don;t come down on some trip that "money is bad,
man" and "there is no goodness in commericalism" and "even if
your intnetions are good, taking money for them is bad" abnd
expect me to buy it.

Money is good. Getting paid for things I do is good. Having
someone who pays me say "that review you gave us was a little
harsh, you don;t start playing ball, we stop paying" will force me to
drop them, because I do not want to compromise myself for an
advertiser... but then the people who know me, in the group, etc. ,
know the kind of guy I am by now (been doing this since '94) and
know that (a) I would like to make a buck or two and (b) they won't
hold it against me unless I start to shill for a company who
advertises with me... and believe me, they'll let me know.

But ypu're doing no good being coy and not naming names. Name
the names of the sites that piss you off so we can see where
you're coming from and discredit the maintainer right along with
you.
