The above is a very good idea. I changed archive names more than two years
ago, and I still get occasional messages from people complaining that the FAQ
has not been updated (meaning that there are still old versions out there
somewhere) or that they can't find it under the old name (meaning that there
are still pointers out there somewhere).

If the maintainer does post a "final copy" with a pointer, is there some way
to make sure it will stay in the archive for a long time.
