I just took over the FAQ for REC.NUDE which is set aside as a text-only,
non-sexual group dedicated to the discussion of family social nudism.
I tried GeoCities but they deemed anything to do with the subject as
against their rather narrow policies. In fact they shut down the test
page I set up there with no warning or explanation. I'm still trying to
find out what happened. So far it seems that they deemed the topic as
"pornographic" even though this was to be a newsgroup FAQ only. No
images, no erotica, no spam. Go figure.
I spent last night web surfing and Tripod and AngelFire seem to have
similar rules but I have e-mails into their customer supp people for a
ruling before I go further.
Having just taken over the FAQ I have only gotten as far as getting the
headers approved and have not as yet heard on archive name.
I was considering just posting a hyperlink with an FTP command for
accessing the directory when its eventually approved and set up, but the
web's point-and-click nature makes it that much more immediate and does
not require spoecialized knowledge on how to execute an anonymous FTP
logon.
I'm open to suggestion.
Thanks
