In response to a particular FAQ approved for *.answers which has been
causing uproar in its "home" newsgroups, a discussion on reforming the
FAQ system and approval mechanism seems to be starting up in
news.admin.misc .

Possibilities such as requiring peer review of FAQs before *.answers
approval, establishing an appeals board to decide whether to
"de-approve" a FAQ if its readers object to it strongly enough, or
just requiring FAQs to include a disclaimer stating that they haven't
been verified in any way have been proposed. If you're interested,
please join in. (To avoid duplication, please talk about it on
news.admin.misc rather than here, since it's already been brought up
there. I'll summarize any significant conclusions here as well before
anything is finalized.)
