Damn lawyers.

Here's what I have to say about this: The royalties from this book is
likely to be average, and when split among the number of authors entitled
to a portion, is likely to bequite small. because of the large number of
contributors, the administrative costs of administering the royalties is
going to be higher than average.

I therefore would go along with almost any scheme that instead provided
all the royalties to a single worthy cause, and to me, the question is
more of where that lump should go, rather than whether it should go
somewhere.

The FAQ Consortium sounds nice if it could work.
