I'd have to agree here. We're not creating documents whose primary
purpose is to be bound in a book. We're creating documents for Usenet
and for the Web. They're *supposed* to be (primarily) read on a computer
screen. Most people that read my FAQ (for the progressive rock band
Dream Theater) usually just jump in to read one or two questions, and
then get out. They don't need hard copies, they need something that
looks good on screen.

And 75-80 characters per line tends to print quite nicely on your typical
laser printer, still giving you about an inch margin all around, should
you want to jot things down.
