Hi all;

I just received the following, and am wondering if anyone else here got
it also. I'm trying to figure out 1) if it's spam, 2) if it's selectively
targeting some FAQs, and 3) if anyone has any knowledge of the scope of
this CD-ROM project. The original email is below.

Dear Madam, Sir,

We are INTERNET MAGAZINE at Impress Corporation in Tokyo, and I am writing
to you for your permission to include the URL of your homepage in our
commercial CD-ROM product.

The CD-ROM, "INTERNET YELLOW PAGES Encyclopedia", is a site index.
Currently we have the same contents on our website
<http://home.impress.co.jp/magazine/inetmag/yellowpg/>, and now we are
going to put it in a CD-ROM to sell it to other companies so that they can
distribute it as a commercial product. As the URL of your site will be
included in this CD-ROM, we would like to have your approval.

If you DO NOT permit us to use your URL for our commercial CD-ROM product,
please reply to me with this message at the bottom by February 10, 1997.
UNLESS we receive your reply until then, we will understand that you have
approved. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Best regards,

Takashi Asano
