down to a dull roar?

I was just thinking about news.answers and its moderators, and
got to wondering about what the rate of introduction of new FAQ
lists is and how it has changed over time. A few years ago
there seemed to be an explosion of new FAQ lists for every
imaginable newsgroup (and quite a few that I couldn't have
imagined), but I can imagine that the point might have been
reached where most newsgroups that want or need FAQ lists, have
them, and the system is now at the point of just seeing new FAQ
lists for brand-new groups, and there aren't so many of those
(what with the twin hurdles of the Guidelines and the kooks).
Are the moderators seeing a higher percentage of administrative
or other changes to existing FAQ lists, and a lower percentage
of brand-new ones? Or are the new ones still busting down the
door?
