When I first asked my boss that I was going to maintain the Sybase
FAQ on comp.databases.sybase he said, "why?" With that, I decided to
spend my own time maintaining it.

The initial release required a lot of my time and I spent a lot of my
free time doing this. Since then a lot of folks within SGI use the
FAQ so I feel justified in spending *some* company time doing rev's.

In order for me to put a text version of the FAQ on the other side of
the firewall I had to get a secure ID type of gizmo. Anyway, this
thing cost my department $250.00. My boss signed for it no
questions... so in a *small* sense SGI *is* supporting my efforts.

Oblique enough?
