I drafted letters to IDG and Godin threatening litigation the day I
found 400+ words verbatim from my Legal Research FAQ (which carries an
explicit "do not redistribute in a commercial product" warning) in
their book. (No critical analysis, no scholarly or academic purpose,
just a plagiaristic land-grab.) The letters haven't gone out yet --
partly because I've been tied up writing a brief, partly because I
thought it prudent to run a conflict check against my firm's list of
existing clients -- but they will be sent soon.
