I don't think so. I have a FAQ that consists of three logical parts,
and have decided to break them up from the beginning. I made that four
parts for getting roughly equal size. They were all about 10-12k then.
Further experience has showed me that even for files that small,
dealing with four small files is ultimately more convenient (for
editing as well as for reading) than with one big file, the reason
being you need less jump and search operations. I see the difference
as I routinely use a slow terminal. :-) Modern software can handle
this adequately (I took the liberty to modify auto_faq as to generate
linearly linked references instead of flat ones, which makes saving
all of the parts at once easier [at least in trn] just in case they
got mangled in transmission.)
Splitting is appropriate, IMHO.
