I maintain several FAQs on microcontrollers that have sort of gotten out
of hand size-wise. I've been planning on splitting them up into more
manageable chunks, but I can never seem to find the time.
It is usually recommended to split up a FAQ when it goes over 64K in size.
However, then it's a pain - both for the maintainer (who has to juggle
separate files) and for the reader (who has to retrieve several pieces
instead of one).
What's the latest low down on multi-part FAQs. None of my readers have
complained (at least not about the size of the FAQs ;-), and I really
like keeping it all in one file. BUT - what about the poor person that
has a newsreader that burps on large articles.
Any thoughts?
Regards to all,
Russ Hersch
P.S. Have you noticed that Ping Huang seems to post/send notices at all
sorts of strange hours. Doesn't he ever sleep? :-)
