Many of the comp.sources.* groups have been doing this for a while now.
If a user sends a tape and a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope)
I and others will make a tape copy of the group's archives.

I have not found it to be but a request or two every couple months.
Usually it is because they have just moved to a site with little
of no Internet/Usenet access. (may be appropriate here... :-)) I
am not sure that you want to put it in your FAQ as an advertised
service but the occasional requests are not normally a problem for
me.
