In the comp.software.config-mgmt FAQs I carry an address/phone list of vendors
and a paragraph or so about each ... submitted by *users* or distilled and
edited from several user submissions (ie, edited).

I try to edit out any potentially inflamatory statements (such as "sleazy")
which tend to be subjective and non-provable. When a vendor wants me to
update with what looks like advertising, I ask him to have one of his
customers submit a paragraph or so summary instead - which I edit in as
I determine to be appropriate. When pushed to provide long product info,
I have asked the vendor for his World Wide Web URL so I may direct peoople
to his own Web server for more info ... so far no one has taken me up on
this last request, but I assume it is only a matter of time. (I did poll
the newsgroup for such URLs, but got no response at the time.)

Hope this helps,

Dave
