I have written my FAQ in TeX and use LaTeX2HTML for the HTML and
lameTeX for the plain text. You can also get decent Postscript,
but I've never bothered to print it all out.

LaTeX2HTML works very well. It took me a while to find out how
to include a ~ character in the final text. You have to use \~{}

The text from lameTex needs a bit of tweaking to get it looking how I
like it. I've also had a few problems with it gradually increasing
the indentation of the lefthand margin through the document.
I probably spent a couple of hours reformatting 200k of text.

lameTeX only supports a subset of LaTeX commands (approximately
30-40). It doesn't support equations, bibliographic
references and the only way to do a table is with the \verbatim
command on some already-formatted text.
