Then do yourself a favour and either gate the mailing list to a local
newsgroup, or filter it into a mail folder.

It wouldn't bother me if this mailing list exploded to 100 items a day,
because I never subscribe to any mailing list using my personal
mailbox. It's all filtered or gated.

Try the "filter" or "slocal" programs, if you're using UNIX.

There is a place for this kind of "I don't know how to filter my mail"
whining: news.newusers.questions.
