My sense is that the main buyers of the CD ROM will be BBS operators
who otherwise will do very little to aid their users' introductions
to Usenet and its peculiar culture. So in that sense I'm happy for
getting FAQs into these people's hands, because already some pretty
frightening people are stomping through some of our china shops here.

On the other hand, jeez, most traditional publishing companies have
entire depts. set aside for permissions. It's absolutely crucial to
the trade to have one. Maybe these guys are about to find that out
themselves.
