How do you wire the transformer in for a doorbell circuit?

on the transformer one side has two black wires(primary circuit). the wires are hooked up to a 110v circuit(one to the hot the other to neutral). the other side has two screws (secondary circuit) from here you go from one screw to the button, the other screw on the button goes to the bell or chime, the other screw on the chime goes back to the other screw on the transformer.
