I don't quite understand this yet but i'veread rumors of the mobile p4 fitting PGA boards but no confirmation that it 'works'. I've also read contradicting information in blogs saying the mp4 is 479 pins and a different form factor. All I can suggest is searching intel'ssite for the actual pin assignments/chipset compatibilities of your desktop mobo and laptop CPU. Hope that helps, I have the same problem/same processor!

My system is only a mobo as yet, the i850GB
